Entex Products
Although we do regular unjacketed pressure vessels and tanks in carbon and alloy steels, the largest majority of our business is in the fabrication of jacketed vessel and trayed columns as well as special heat exchange applications. A brief description of what we offer is as follows:
Specialty Fabrication:
E-Coils: This is an embossed type jacket either Mig-button welded or slot welded directly to the wall of the vessel. It is an excellent type of jacket offering quick temperature response as well as low initial cost.
E-Pipe: This is a vessel jacket that is made by forming strip material, usually 11 gauge, into 120 degree sector. This long shape is then wrapped in a helix around the outside of the vessel and both edges seal welded. This is an excellent type of jacketing and only slightly more expensive than E-Coil.
Half-Pipe: This is the traditional half or split pipe and is formed by cutting the pipe into two to form a 180 degree sector and is wrapped in a helix around the outside of the vessel. We use special techniques to ensure full penetration welds along both edges of the Half-Pipe.
Double Wall Construction: This is the old traditional “can within a can” type and is used primarily for low jacket pressures. However, if desired, stayed construction can be employed to go to higher pressures.
Columns and Towers:
Our people are extremely well qualified in the fabrication of all types of trayed columns such as sieve plate and bubble cap as well as packed towers. We work regularly with all of the tray suppliers.
Clad Vessels:
We have developed some special techniques to weld clad vessels to allow some money saving alternatives to solid alloy materials.
Special Fabrication:
With the wide variety of jacketing materials available to use, we are able to solve many difficult heat transfer problems. Some interesting examples are:
Jacketed Ducting: By using E-Coil or Double Wall, we are able to economically jacket long runs of ducting for hot gases.
E-Coil Heat Exchangers: Entex makes many special immersion type heaters of E-Coil for applications like water-cooled baffles for reactors or for solving special problems. For instance, some time ago a large commercial washing machine manufacturer was having trouble with his heater plates which could not remove condensate fast enough under heavy loads and caused severe “hammer.” By a unique special design, Entex was able to solve their problem and remove condensate at very rapid rates.
Clamp-On E-Coil: To supply the need for adding heat transfer surface to existing vessels or new vessels with smaller heat transfer requirements, we fabricate a special single embossed Clamp-On E-Coil. This can either be attached by strapping or bolting using special lugs or tack welded. Heat transfer mastic can be used to improve heat transfer.
